The Hairy Hikers
David Le Vay £8.99 Summersdale

David and Rob, two friends in their forties, set about walking the mighty GR10 – a French footpath the length of the Pyrénées. From start (Hendaye) to finish (Banyuls-sur-Mer) the 530 mile journey took them nearly two months to complete. Along the way, they must contend with wet boots and stabbing pains and they have to earn their hot showers and hearty breakfasts! Only then will they be rewarded with beautiful views of mountains inhabited by giant dogs and wild bears. Regardless of whether or not you’ll be convinced to follow suit or simply want to find out how it’s done, The Hairy Hikers is an entertaining account that covers every aspect of a ‘midlife crisis’. ★★★★
