The world is changing, and education has to keep up with a constantly shifting environment. That is why, at The International School of Nice, we take a 21st century approach to learning, helping students develop knowledge and skills that go beyond the classroom and shaping ‘life-ready’ graduates. From Early Years to High School, students benefit from a holistic approach to education, designed to prepare them for university and beyond.
With dual American and European accreditation, ISN Nice has been a leading light in international education on the French Riviera for over 40 years. As a co-educational, IB World School for children aged three to 18 in the Cannes-Nice-Monaco region, students learn in English and also benefit from daily French classes from age five upwards. With students representing more than 65 nationalities, and 30 nationalities represented by staff, the school is truly a melting pot of different cultures and backgrounds.
Our IB education offers students a broad and balanced curriculum, well-respected by leading universities and colleges worldwide, that champions both academic achievement and personal development. Recognised as an IB World School since 1990, ISN Nice is authorised by the IB organisation to offer the IB Diploma Programme (IB DP) and the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). ISN Nice is also a candidate school for the IB Middle Years Programme, with accreditation expected at the end of 2023.
International Community
As a member of Globeducate, one of the world’s leading premium bilingual and international school groups with more than 55 schools and online programmes in ten countries, ISN Nice shares a mission to prepare each student to be a global citizen who can shape the world. Building on a fundamental belief in the importance of sharing the value of intercultural understanding and global engagement, the school is part of an inclusive, dynamic, international network that prepares students for the world of tomorrow.
Being a member of Globeducate exposes ISN Nice students to exclusive partnerships, opportunities and programmes. Throughout the year, students participate in events such as the Globeducate Academic Olympics, Model United Nations, the International Music Festival, and Visual Arts Competitions. Furthermore, students have access to an exclusive partnership with WWF, and also enjoy dedicated outdoor learning days, and exciting STEAM initiatives such as working with LEGO® Education Robotics Kits to integrate robotics and coding into the curriculum.
An Ambitious Renovation Project
Learning Environment is a key aspect in providing twenty-first century education. ISN Nice has commenced with an inspirational renovation project, encompassing classrooms, two libraries, a Makerspace, a design studio, science labs, a bistro and more. The designs provide specific areas for problem solving, analytical thinking, imagination and creativity and digital skills while retaining the advantages of teamwork and collaboration. We believe the learning environment can play a crucial role in helping students to express themselves and to take care of their individual needs. Our teachers will work in flexible, adaptable spaces where they can guide and empower students in close collaboration.
STEAM
Science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics play a crucial part in every student’s educational journey. Through a “hands-on, minds-on” approach to learning and teaching, students acquire the tools and critical thinking skills to approaching problems. STEAM education immerses students and teachers in inquiry, dialogue, problem-solving and experiential learning that deepens understanding across their whole school learning. Our progressive STEAM agenda empowers students to identify and tackle real-world problems with increasing engagement, creativity, collaboration and connections to diverse areas.
Beyond the Classroom
ISN Nice looks beyond the classroom and offers unique initiatives, including Changemakers and The Essentials. “Changemakers” offers a choice of specialities such as creating a start-up, design thinking, youth activism, coding, an Eco-club and more, for students to explore and develop talents and abilities in non-traditional academic subjects. This encourages students to become active, engaged and visionary Changemakers, who use learning concepts in innovative ways.
“The Essentials” is a life skills programme, which is embedded into the curriculum and daily life of the school, and it goes far beyond a traditional PSHE (personal, social, health education) class. “The Essentials” takes an innovative approach to student wellbeing and their physical and emotional health, broaching topics such as social media use, understanding mental health, first aid, financial literacy and study skills.
ISN Nice is dedicated to preparing this generation for jobs that have not yet been created, for technologies that have not yet been invented, and to solve problems that have not yet been anticipated. At ISN Nice, students learn how to play their part in shaping the future!
