French Property Exhibition Returns To London On 28th-29th January!
News
After a three-year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic, the French Property Exhibition returns to London following demand from visitors and exhibitors alike. Since the first exhibition over 30 years ago in 1989, the popular event has helped people buy and sell thousands of French properties, as well as providing expert advice on everything from legal, financial, tax and inheritance concerns to building, renovation, removals and visas – and where to buy, of course!
Many of the exhibitors have made the move to France themselves and have become experts in all aspect of day-to-day life in France, including healthcare, education, integration, culture and language, to name but a few. Find out too how the French property market is faring after the past couple of years’ travel restrictions and pent-up demand – and discover how far your budget will go.
“The value for money and the beautiful diversity of properties makes France one of the most desirable places to buy a property,” says Mar Bonnin-Palmer of Moneycorp. “We would be happy to be part of the journey by helping visitors understanding how to best exchange their funds into euros.”
Kickstart your French property search
If you’re just starting out on your property hunt, you can browse through thousands of properties for sale on the estate agencies’ books, as well as in the exclusive private sales area. Whether you’re looking for a cosy cottage, a seaside villa, ski chalet or grand chateau, you’re bound to find something to suit.
“France remains extraordinarily attractive to both British and international buyers,” notes Joanna Leggett of Leggett Immobilier. “The marketplace continues to be buoyant – gone are the days when property took months or even years to sell, well-priced and well-presented property can be selling now within a matter of literally just weeks. Some are even making offers for properties over the internet before they can book a flight to come over and physically view the property!
“We always look forward to coming to the exhibition each year – it’s a fabulous opportunity to meet people who are considering moving to France and talk with them about what’s available property wise and lay to rest any potential challenges they might perceive.”
Dan Newton of Agence Newton also comments that: “Things are moving fast in French property these days, so it will be good to meet visitors and help them accelerate their search for the dream property in France. We’re really looking forward to getting back doing the shows after the ‘interlude’.”
Practical, expert advice on every aspect of the buying process
Perhaps you’re ready to start booking viewing trips with agents, or need advice on the best way to legally structure your purchase or how to get the best currency deal. Do you need removals advice or want to build your own home? If so, the exhibition is the place to be, with all the professionals you need under one roof.
“The French Property Exhibition has always been an excellent opportunity for us to engage with potential clients,” says Matthew Cameron of Ashtons Legal. “We are again looking forward to attending, to showcase our expertise in French property law and Franco-British inheritance matters”.
Free seminars covering everything from buying property to moving to France
For further in-depth expert advice, the free-to-attend seminars are a must, covering all the key areas of interest.
Exhibition sponsor Blevins Franks will be advising visitors on financial and tax matters. “We always enjoy meeting people who are excited about making their dream of living in France come true,” says Business Development Director Jason Porter. “It’s a pleasure to help them plan for their new life abroad and assist in guiding them through the various financial planning steps they need to take and when to take them. Besides explaining the tax implications of being resident in France, we advise on how to potentially lower taxes in France as well as when leaving the UK – it’s worth weighing up whether to sell UK assets while still a UK resident or once they’re living in France.
“And although we’re a financial advisory company, we have also set up a European emigration advisory service and are always happy to answer questions about the residence requirements for UK nationals post Brexit. I’m sure this year’s exhibition will be another great success and prove really useful for attendees.”
One of the first exhibitors to attend the French Property Exhibitions was Gary Burke of Burke Bros Moving Group. “The return of the French Property Show in January is a much-anticipated opportunity to meet up with customers and fellow exhibitors alike,” he says. “Over the last 30 plus years, the exhibitions have always provided a central point of reference for people who are serious in wanting to make the move to France.”
Join France Media Group and FrenchEntrée at the event
The event will be the first hosted by France Media Group and will use the same experienced exhibitions team with an injection of fresh new ideas. As the leading UK publisher of magazines and websites about France, including FrenchEntrée, France Media Group is in the ideal position to bring together a highly engaged and motivated audience with the key players within the French property industry.
“I’ve been attending the French property shows as an attendee or exhibitor for the last 15 years,” comments Managing Director Ben Stephens. “So it’s incredibly exciting for me and France Media Group to now be running the event. After the ups and downs of recent years, we aim to return it to pole position as the definitive one-stop-shop exhibition for French property buyers.”
For over 30 years, the French Property Exhibitions have been helping buyers achieve their dreams, offering a wealth of information and inspiration. Whichever region appeals and whatever the budget, it’s the ideal opportunity to find the perfect property.
